Have you ever used a B-staged epoxy before?
If you have, you know it involves a little more preparation than conventional epoxies. Since it is a solid, users must heat it until it transforms into a liquid and then it can be applied as a traditional epoxy. And it will require even higher temperatures to fully cure.
What if you wanted to eliminate these steps?
The experts at Master Bond have developed the answer: FLM36. It is a B-staged film for bonding and sealing applications that offers exceptionally easy processing. As a film, FLM36:
- Does not require mixing
- Features uniform bond line thickness
- Has limited squeeze out when bonding.
This system offers:
- Incomparable strength properties
- Excellent strength retention at elevated temperatures
- Superior toughness and flexibility
FLM36 also possesses many enhanced thermal properties including:
- Outstanding temperature resistance up to 500°F
- First class thermal conductivity
- Superb ability to withstand rigorous thermal cycling
Using the film couldn't be easier. It is black in color and comes with white release papers on either side. Users just have to cut the film into various shapes and sizes, remove the papers and attach it to the substrate, cure at 350°F for 1-2 hours.
FLM36 is available in 3 standard sizes:
- 4x4x0.008 inch
- 8x8x0.009 inch
- 12x12x0.006 inch
Preform shapes are available upon request.
